The managers of a new beauty salon in Bourne are looking forward to welcoming new customers today (Tuesday, May 24) after the ribbon was officially cut on Saturday.

The mayor of Bourne Philip Knowles declared The Beauty Retreat Bourne open on Saturday in one of his last duties before he hands over tonight - the same day the new salon opens to customers.

Owners Sophie Spencer and Maria Stokes have owned The Beauty Retreat in Market Deeping for seven years and opening a branch in Bourne felt like the next natural step.

Sophie said: “We always thought it would be nice to have another one. We did a lot of research about where to open and when the unit came up, as I live in Bourne, it seemed like the right thing to do.”

The salon will be open from 9am to 6pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, 9am to 8pm Wednesdays and Thursdays and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays.

Sophie and Maria will be based at the Bourne salon, while their manager Lauren handles the Market Deeping branch.

The Bourne salon will offer treatments including manicures, pedicures, facials, massages, waxing and tininting and one of the senior therapists has moved over from Market Deeping to Bourne. Two new therapists have also been employed at Bourne.

During the opening on Saturday there was a deal where customers who booked appointments before the end of June got them for half-price.

Sophie added: “We’re really excited to open in Bourne and we hope people come and see what we have to offer.”
