Two men were injured last night (Wednesday) after they fought with intruders who had broken into their home near Langtoft and stole thousands of pounds.

Four men broke into the house on the A15 between Langtoft and Market Deeping at about 6pm.

They assaulted the occupants, who are aged 52 and 25, searched the house and left with cash.

The victims were treated for minor injuries at Peterborough City Hospital.

It is thought their injuries included broken bones.

Police were called at 6.30pm.

A police spokesman said he believes the men have now been discharged from hospital.

Police had cordoned off the house this morning while forensic experts carried out their investigations.
