A chocolatier has thanked generous customers who helped raise more than £1,700 by visiting his gigantic Easter creation.
Jan Hansen, who runs Hansen’s chocolate shop in Folkingham, built a 7ft egg to raise money for St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice.
He invited customers to come and take photos with the egg in return for a donation, and also to enter a raffle.
Jan opted to support the hospice in gratitude after his older brother Cullum needed the services of a hospice in Bedfordshire when dying of brain cancer. Mr Hansen also heard of the recent costly vandalism to the St Barnabas shop in Sleaford.
He was delighted with the support shown over the Easter period. He said: “What’s so lovely about this is that everyone in the community is getting involved, from every age group.”
The egg will now be broken up and sold off to raise more money.
