Organisers of a free family fun day have appealed for performers to take part in the event.
Stamford Kiwanins are hosting Stamford Family Fun Day in the grounds of Burghley House on August 10. The group is planning a host of children’s activities, craft workshops, sporting tuition, dance sessions and all day entertainment.
Stamford-based Wildcats Theatre School is co-ordinating the entertainment package for the and is looking for anyone who can put on a performance to get in touch.
Wildcats founder Caz Dolby said: “This is a voluntary opportunity but those who do contribute will be mentioned in press releases, and will be able to promote their group or activity during the day.
“Don’t just think singing and dancing though - comedy, magic, tricksters, solo instrumentalists are all welcome too.
“We are also looking for performers to work with other professionals on the day and get involved with workshops and other activities.”
Acts on the day should not take much time to set up and take down, so no full live bands should apply. Performances can range between 10 and 30 minutes and will be introduced and linked by an announcer for the day.
Music should be of high quality and on a MP3/iPod device for ease of set up.
Performers can do two sets, coming back on later in the day with different material. There will be a stage and a grassed area for larger dance based performances.
If you are interested please email firstname.lastname@example.org with details of your act and any web links.
