Poorly children who spent Christmas in hospital did not miss out on a delivery from Santa thanks to scores of local businesses, community groups, sports teams and schools who donated gifts to the Amazon Ward at Peterborugh City Hospital.
Visitors have dropped off gifts of toys, colouring books, puzzles, books and money.
Presents have been donated by: Linfords Fish and Chip Shop, Anglia Co-operative Travel in Bourne and Market Deeping, Morrisons in Stamford, Anglian Water, The Rutland Harley Owners Group, Jelson Homes and many other businesses and groups from the Peterborough area.
Service co-ordinator for Amazon Ward play Zoe Wilkinson, said: “We were thrilled that so many people and organisations thought of us again this year and made the effort to come in with their deliveries.
“It means such a lot to the children and their families to still celebrate Christmas even though they cannot be at home. On behalf of the ward I would like to thank all those who have been so generous.
“It means we can have presents for all the children who have to come in to hospital over the Christmas period.”
