Local house builder Larkfleet Homes is helping many local house buyers realise their dreams of owning their own home.

With sites in Bourne and Pinchbeck – as well as Oakham and Peterborough – and new sites opening soon in Whittlesey and Thurlby, Larkfleet is giving local people, especially first-time buyers, that all important first step up on to the housing ladder.

Larkfleet has offered the Government’s Help to Buy scheme on its Abbeyfields development in Bourne since it opened.

The Help to Buy scheme allows homebuyers to potentially own 100 per cent of their new home with just a 75 per cent mortgage and five per cent deposit.

Abbeyfields has sold 26 properties using the Help to Buy scheme this year alone and with only three properties left for sale at the development, the popularity of the Help to Buy scheme is plain to see.

At its Glen Grange development in Pinchbeck, Larkfleet offers its own equity share scheme – Ezyshare – which allows homebuyers to potentially own a new home but only pay 85 per cent of the total cost, further helping first-time buyers onto the housing ladder.

The equity-share scheme is perfect for young couples and growing families who are looking to purchase a home but can’t quite afford the full purchase price.

With eleven properties sold using the Ezyshare scheme this year, it has also proved a hit with homebuyers.

Larkfleet will soon open a sales office at its new development, The Garage, located between Thurlby and Bourne which will also offer the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.

This, coupled with its great location and quality of properties, means Larkfleet expects The Garage to enjoy the same level of popularity with homebuyers and hopes to help more local first-time buyers onto the housing ladder.

New government figures published on July 31 revealed that 4,357 sales were made under the Help to Buy scheme in June this year, the highest monthly total since the scheme launched in April 2013.

In total, 27,167 homes have been purchased under the equity loan initiative. The figures, covering April 2013 to 30 June 2014, also show that first time buyers made up 85 per cent of the sales at 23,167 transactions.
