Schemes will help to get first-time buyers started

FIRST-TIME buyers will find it easier to get on the property ladder thanks to two schemes.

Housebuilders David Wilson Homes is holding an event at its Elsea Park development in Greenacres Drive, Bourne, on Saturday and Sunday, between 11am and 6pm.

It is for first-time buyers to find out about the Government-backed scheme FirstBuy, which allows people to buy a new home with a 76 per cent mortgage and with a four per cent deposit.

The remaining 20 per cent is funded by a loan from David Wilson Homes and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency.

Taylor Wimpey, which is developing Oak Springs, also on the Elsea Park estate, is also making the most of the Government initiative NewBuy.

The initiative helps people access 95 per cent mortgages on properties up to the value of £500,000.
