The annual working weekend event held at Hall Farm in Little Casterton will be taking place this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday.

A popular event amongst farming enthusiasts across the county, the working weekend comprises of a wide selection of agricultural machinery from bygone eras, demonstrating the machines’ capabilities on the land.

Sections at the event will include steam ploughing, combine harvesting, threshing and ploughing.

More than 40 vintage tractors will on display across the weekend, of which 20 of the tractors being showcased were built before the 1930s.

A large area of farming land has been made available for all of the machinery to put on a great display for visitors, including a working demonstration of a vintage combine harvester.

Event secretary John Roberts said: “We have a great turn-out each year for the event, it’s definitely well received by visitors that come from near and far.

“We’ve got a great variety of farming machinery on display and it’s all working machinery - which makes for a great show.”

Refreshments are available on site throughout the day. Entry into the event will cost £5 each.
