SUPERMARKET customers have boosted The Local Lydia and Ella Appeal with a £150 donation for Morton's terminally ill twins.
Staff at Sainsbury’s in Exeter Street, Bourne, presented the cash to the Thompson family, of Station Road, which was raised by shoppers in the store’s coffee shop in the last three months.

The money will go towards helping the 20-month-old Tay-Sachs Disease sufferers lead a more comfortable life with specialist equipment.

Their condition is rare and incurable and as time goes on they will deteriorate.

Store manager Paul Bryan said: “It is a pleasure to be able to hand over £150 to the twins’ family on behalf of all our customers who have kindly given their odd change since Christmas.”

These funds add to the £30,000 already donated or pledged to pay for a sensory room, which is currently being built for the girls.

That is almost complete and will include a bubble tube, fibre optics, sound equipment, mirrors and padding.
