DO you recognise the woman on Alan Tilley's bus pass?
The Bourne pensioner got a shock after receiving his new bus pass bearing a photograph of a woman.
Alan Tilley (62), of Austerby, had waited seven weeks for his card to arrive, only to discover it had a woman's photograph with his details.
Mr Tilley, who works for Warners in Bourne, said: "I picked it up off my doormat and opened the letter.
"When I saw it I burst out laughing. It is crazy."
Mr Tilley contacted South Kesteven District Council, which issues the passes to all eligible people over the age of 60 living in the district.
He said: "I called the council and told them what had happened. They were very apologetic.
"I was told that I will receive a new bus pass in a fortnight."
Mr Tilley does not know who the woman is on his card and said: "She would probably be more embarrassed than me if she had my picture on her bus pass.
"When you see the name Alan you would know it is a man. If it was a name like Leslie, the person could be male or female, but I do think it was a genuine mistake.
"My wife Margaret also laughed when she saw it.
"There is nothing else you can do.
"I think it might be one of the strangest things to happen to me and I have never heard of it happening to anyone else.
"I might try and use it for a laugh and see what happens."
A district council spokesman said: "There was a data matching problem which resulted in the wrong picture being used on Mr Tilley's card."
Have you received a bus pass with a photo of someone else or the wrong name?
