You just can't stop the beat in Langtoft
A LONG-STANDING village drama group have this week been performing their latest show - You Can't Stop the Beat.
Langtoft Players, which started up in 1972, began rehearsing for their production in April this year.
Member Michelle Gillett, 27, of Stowe Road, Langtoft, said the show has been inspired by the composers of the UK's most loved musicals.
She has been a member since 2004 and helped choreograph part of the show.
Michelle will be performing and said: "It is going really well and the dress rehearsal went brilliantly.
"We aim to have your feet tapping, your heart strings twanging and your tear ducts working overtime with songs like 42nd Street and Welcome to the 60s, through to a selection from Les Miserables to the Junior evacuees Going to the Country and much more in between. There is also a special treat for people who like Abba."
The audience can expect a 15-strong cast, with about 20 children from the Langtoft Mini Players too.
Michelle said: "There will be men and women in the show ranging from the age of seven to people in their 60s."
The last show takes place at Langtoft Village Hall, West End, Saturday 20th June at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost 6 (concessions 4) from Langtoft Village Hall and Castley and Co.
