There Goes the Bride at Exchange

BOURNE Footlights has chosen There Goes The Bride, by Ray Cooney and John Chapman for its eighth charity production which will be performed in Bourne Corn Exchange on Wednesday, July 1, Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3 at 7.30pm.

Directed by Maureen Berkes this fast moving farce follows harassed advertising executive Timothy Westerby who hits his head on the morning of his daughter's society wedding and awakes to find himself in the company of Polly Perkins, a 1920s Flapper girl straight out of his current advertising campaign.

It soon becomes clear that no-one else can see or hear her and when another bump on the head transports him back to 1926 and the Savoy Hotel, the wedding preparations disintegrate into chaos as friends and family attempt to lead him back to reality and his daughter down the aisle.

Tickets priced at 8.50 including a ploughman's supper, are available from Deeping Travel, Bourne, 01778 423224.

Proceeds from the play will be donated to Thorpe Hall Hospice in memory of Alan Lock; LIVES and Bourne Abbey School drama department.

Anyone wishing to sponsor a table at 20 for the three nights should contact Lynda Lock on 01778 393245.
