June 5, 6 and 7 saw the welcome return of the Bourne Festival on the Wellhead.
The town of Bourne came alive with this event organised by Bourne Round Table.
A group of 13 members, the Round Table juniors, family, friends and sponsors along with the usual band of volunteers both running the gate or the bar.
Once again I
had the pleasure of helping collect the admission fee and the feedback was excellent. The marquee had over 50 beers and lagers and more than 20 ciders from local breweries.
Visitors were entertained by an array of talented local bands throughout the weekend and Tuby's funfair provided rides and stalls to keep the children amused.
There was also a good selection of food, charity and craft stalls. The scouts were responsible for collecting the rubbish, St John Ambulance were there to give first aid and security was taken care of by the mobile CCTV monitoring unit.
The Bourne Festival could not have run more smoothly. Now it's back to quiet Bourne, still the is always next year to look forward to.
