I WOULD like to sincerely thank the voters of Bourne Abbey division who gave me their support in the county council elections.
It was so heartening, in this time of cynicism with national politics, that the people of Bourne, Morton, Haconby and the other villages did turn out to vote in such numbers.
I may not have been elected but I believe that the level of support you
gave me is an indication that the message I put forward was one that you wish me to pursue over the months ahead.
You told me so on the doorstep, please feel free to get in touch with me again, I will listen, I will speak out.
I would also like to pay tribute to helpers and supporters who did so much to aid my endeavours.
As an independent candidate, the road is long, the task is daunting, your assistance and encouragement was and is deeply appreciated. All my best wishes to you and yours, however you voted.

Bourne Abbey divisionI STOOD as a candidate for a still controversial party, the British National Party in the Folkingham Rural District and would like to thank my opponents for a fair election fought on policies.
The majority voted Tory and I have to congratulate Martin Hill on a stunning result in overcoming the Westminster scandals.
I received nine per cent of the vote from a standing start, and I'm sure it will be recognised that one in 11 voters in the district are neither racists nor seeking the Third Reich.
Like us they want to see the majority views on the judiciary, European Union, open labour laws and immigration properly represented and policies implemented.
The sad truth is that whilst we are members of the European Union the major parties are unable to do this as we have lost our sovereignty over large parts of our law.
Also, like me, they want to see a proper opposition to runaway public expenditure building up monumental debt.
I hope those in power will take will take note that the British National Party and Lincolnshire Independents took nearly as many votes as both Labour and the Liberals combined, with Labour finishing last.

South WithamI WOULD like to thank very much all the residents who voted for me on Thursday and I appreciate their belief in me.
I still have a long way to go and much more work to do but I have already dedicated more of my spare time to three main areas of work to concentrate on for Bourne and help secure our future.
The result was brilliant and has greatly urged me to press on, 1,044 votes was amazing and I thank you one and all. You are all stars, a 40 per cent turnout was fantastic.
My helpers were pure gems helping to deliver 4,445 leaflets. Thank you, the party will be on June 19.
I still believe Bourne deserves better and will, with great interest, see what our ward councillor will be able to change for us. There is a mountain of work to do to make sure all are catered for. Bourne will thrive again for all and be "the place to be".
I will continue and look forward to meeting the rest of the residents in the area in the near future to discuss their concerns and ideas for a better Bourne.
