We would like to apologise to Steve Jackson, of Thurlby, whose letter was published in The Local on June 12, under the heading 'Locals could have told traffic bosses all about tailbacks'.
In his letter to us, he wrote: We always seem to have to put up with knee jerk retrospective bodge ups instead of things being planned properly in the first place. Elsea Park for instance or if investment had gone in to providing the youngsters with something to do then money wouldn't have to be spent on fencing in the Abbey lawns. Prevention rather than cure.

Unfortunately, the word "or" in the second sentence was changed to "where" in our editing process, which changed Mr Jackson's meaning, and led to a response from Elsea Park Trust on last week's letters page.

We are very sorry the error occurred and apologise to Mr Jackson and readers.
