PEOPLE may be getting a little bored by the constant mention of a road that would severely impact on Bourne Wood but it is now even more vital to keep up the pressure and stop this plan in its tracks.
In conversation with a local councillor some serious facts have emerged.
He had spoken to council chiefs – both at South Kesteven District Council and Lincolnshire County Council – and had been told no discussions had taken place with Larkfleet Ho
mes in relation to development adjacent to Bourne Wood.
He has recently pursued the matter through the Freedom of Information Act and discovered that talks have, in fact, been held.
Am I the only one to find it amazing that council officials can get away with withholding information?
Have they forgotten where their pay comes from and who they serve?
This leads me on to the Forestry Commission.
In its correspondence and conversations with us, it has advised us that had it not entered into an agreement to sell the land to Larkfleet Homes now a compulsory purchase order could force the commission into a sale.
Such an order can only be imposed by the council, either SKDC or LCC.
Does this mean that discussions on these plans have already taken place at a high level?
Please don't be lulled into a false sense of security by statements that nothing will take place for ten to 15 years.
We need to prevent this from going any further or we will be left fighting an expensive rearguard action.
