Morton and Manthorpe
MORTON and Hanthorpe Parish Council met at Morton Church Hall on Tuesday, February 24.
It began with a public forum and county councillor Sue Woolley stated her support for any local effort to reduce the speed limit on the A15 through Morton.
Dog fouling
The district council has recently put up new warning signs about dog fouling but some have already been vandalised. The district council intends to introduce new dog control orders.
Allotments
A response from the land agents for the county council is expected is the near future regarding land in the village, which is currently used as farm land being released for allotments.
Plans
C Handley, Moorgate Close, Morton, two-storey rear extension; S Reynolds and G Gosling for outline consent for the erection of a dwelling on land between 49 and 55 Station Road, Morton. No objections to either application were put forward by the parish council.
The council agreed to send a letter to planning officers at South Kesteven District Council objecting to an application to construct six wind turbines on Sempringham Fen.
Caravans
The clerk was asked to contact Lincolnshire Highways for an update on efforts to remove the caravans from the layby north of Morton on the A15.
The next meeting of the Parish Council is on Tuesday, March 31, and will be preceded by the annual parish meeting which will start at 7.15pm
