Bourne Corn Exchange future in spotlight

A PLAN to turn Bourne Corn Exchange into a one-stop shop will be decided on Tuesday.

South Kesteven District Council will consider the plans to bring the library, the county, district and town council offices and the Citizens Advice Bureau under one roof at a meeting on Tuesday.

Planning officers have recommended the plans, which include extending the ground floor to the east, adding new windows and doors and installing a ramp, be approved.

If the plans get the go-ahead, the ground floor would house a new customer service facility, the library and interview room along with a hall and kitchen.

People would still be able to hire the function room on the ground floor and town council meetings would be held there. There would also be staff offices and storage on the first floor.
