TWENTY two members of Thurlby WI met in St Firmin's Church Hall when president Pat Game welcomed everyone and the minutes of the January meeting were read by June Nall.
Pat Game gave a report on the WI South Lincs Federation Day at Springfields, Spalding, when the speaker was antiques expert Tim Wonnacott.

June Nall informed members of the proposed lunch at Stamford College and a private visit to Edinburgh Woolle
n Mill in April and said that a visit would be arranged to Blenheim Palace or Chatsworth House in July.

Members were invited to a coffee morning on March 31 at June Nall's house and reminders were given about the invitation from Baston WI and resolution discussion evenings at Moulton and Leadenham. Refreshments were served by Alice Hempsall and Mary Williams.

The financial report read by treasurer Pat Osborn showed a successful balance for the year. June Nall read the committee's annual report and Pat Game gave the president's address. The new committee for 2009/2010 was announced.

A competition for an arrangement in an egg cup was won by Jenny Garrett, second was Pat Game and third Jane Naylor. Competition secretary Alison Wallace announced that the overall winner for the year was Rosemary Howell, who was presented with a garden voucher.

Birthday gifts were presented to Sherri Farrow, Jean Chappell and Diana Cox and raffle winners were Pat Game, Pat Osborn and June Nall.

The evening ended with a quiz.

The next meeting will be in St Firmin's Church Hall on Thursday, April 9, when Mrs Teresa Thompson will give a talk on Fashion Through the Ages. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
