Lincolnshire army cadet force - 22/05/09

CADETS NATIONAL ATHLETICS - Lincolnshire will once again be hosting the Army Cadet Force Association national athletics meeting at the Meres Stadium, Grantham on Saturday June 13 at 10.30am.
This is a major event in the Army Cadet Force calendar and up to 600 competitors are expected to attend from all 14 regions of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales with very strong contingents for the event.

Special guests will be the Lor
d Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Tony Worth, High Sheriff of Lincolnshire, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, the Mayor of Grantham and consort, Mayor and Sheriff of Lincoln, Colonel Simon Frere-Cook former County Cadet Commandant, Honorary Colonel Nigel Brown and Major Keith Dakin, Staff Officer of 49 (East) Brigade who have been invited to the event to present some of the major awards.

Major Terry Dixon of Grantham, the county sports officer of the Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force will be chief steward and judge.

The main competition will begin at 10.30am and is scheduled to finish at 4pm after which the final presentation of major trophies will take place at 4.30pm.

Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force personnel will be undertaking the administration for the meeting, organising the overnight accommodation at Beckingham Camp, catering for the teams, and providing many track and field judges.
